One of the great rants by Christopher Hitchens was when he participated in a debate in England put on by the Intelligence Squared organization in October 2009. The subject being debated was: The Catholic Church is a force for good in the world. His opponents were a Catholic bishop from Africa (Archbishop John Onaiyekan) and Catholic MP Ann Widdecombe. Supporting him was Stephen Fry. In fact, this rant has been called his best ever on the subject of the Catholic Church. A version of this video has already been posted on You-Tube, but this video focuses on just this rant by Hitchens.

My heart goes out to? all those ppl who believe the lies of the enemy. They chose to ignore the tug on their hearts to follow our King. I pray that its not too late for those who are lost & that those who chose to go against the Kingdom come to their scenes & realize that Light will always prevail over darkness.

I thought I would share something with you? Tristen, our 8 year old,? came up to me with great excitement in his eyes, and was so eager to speak to me!! After he had calmed down a bit, he told me he heard a message from God from within his heart!? God had told him that he was coming to take us to heaven soon, and to tell everyone he could?! A message from God, from a child, amazing!

Within our post-Enlightenment paradigm (referred to, by you, as ‘modern’) “big boys? and girls” do indeed refrain from comparing things they do not agree with to Nazism, unless, of course, the comparison is warranted, and apt. Prior to 1964, the views of Emperor Constantine’s Holy Roman and Apostolic Catholic Church and Hitler’s Third Reich were one and the same. Those atrocities committed against Jews by the Church and by Hitler differ in degree, only, and not in kind.
@aigg I was under the impression? that in the modern era big boys and girls don’t compare things that they don’t agree with to Nazi’s, but that’s just my personal opinion. Nazis are Nazis, Klansmen are Klansmen, Catholics are Catholics, Jews are Jews, the list goes on.

So given the right circumstances, atheists will commit horrible evils, evils Christians would never do. We have an ethos, and a moral ground to? stand on, while atheists are just a bunch of spoiled little rich kids who live for the moment.
